Sinfonietta No. 1
« Sinfonetta No. 1 » won first prize in the Composition Competition for the 1st category, organized by the Swiss Brass Band Association, in 2023. The various melodic themes and rhythmic motifs develop throughout the work. They combine with the numerous dynamic effects to bring a certain unity, from the beginning to the end of this competition piece. The technical and melodic difficulties allow the different soloists to show all their virtuosity and musicality, all along 5 uninterrupted parts.
After a first slow and « misterioso » part, the first contrast with an « energico » sequence based on an ostinato creates a progression and a tension, to bring the whole towards the third part « mesto » (sad), then « lento », where some cadenzas and numerous dissonnances are played. The transition « energico » announces the fifth part: « con fuoco » ternary and fast. This last part will lead the audience to a final apotheosis.
« Sinfonetta No. 1 » gewann den ersten Preis beim Kompositionswettbewerb für die 1. Kategorie, der 2023 vom Schweizer Brass Band Verband organisiert wurde. Die verschiedenen melodischen Themen und rhythmischen Motive entwickeln sich im Laufe des Werks. Sie verbinden sich mit den zahlreichen dynamischen Effekten, um vom Anfang bis zum Ende dieses Wettbewerbsstücks eine gewisse Einheitlichkeit zu bewirken. Die technischen und melodischen Schwierigkeiten ermöglichen es den verschiedenen Solisten, ihre ganze Virtuosität und Musikalität in fünf ununterbrochenen Teilen zu zeigen.
Nach einem langsamen, « misterioso »-artigen ersten Teil erzeugt der erste Kontrast mit einer « energico »-Sequenz, die auf einem Ostinato basiert, eine Progression und Spannung, um das Ensemble in den dritten Teil « mesto » (traurig) und dann « lento » zu führen, wo einige Kadenzen und zahlreiche Dissonanzen auftreten. Die Überleitung « energico » kündigt den fünften Teil an: « con fuoco », ein schneller, ternärer Teil. Dieser letzte Teil führt die Zuhörer zu einem krönenden Finale.

Les différents thèmes mélodiques et motifs rythmiques se développent tout au long de l’œuvre. Ils se combinent aux nombreux effets dynamiques pour apporter une certaine unité, du début à la fin de cette pièce de concours. Les difficultés techniques et mélodiques permettent ainsi aux différents solistes, de montrer toute leur virtuosité et leur musicalité, tout au long de 5 parties ininterrompues.

La transition « energico » annonce la 5e partie: « con fuoco » ternaire et rapide. Cette dernière partie conduira l’auditoire vers un final en apothéose.
